Blog > It’s London Jim but not as we know it…………..
Author: Belle Moss
And so it comes to an end……deep down we always knew it would, and yet somehow living in the Olympic bubble for the last two weeks it felt as though we were at the eye of the storm where reality couldn’t intrude.
While most of the world heaped praise upon us for the wonderful organisation and atmosphere London 2012 provided I don’t think anyone was as surprised as we were at the heights we managed to scale.
Firstly the weather cooperated – words fail me here. Secondly, we were not only nice to each other – we were happy. Smiling faces, laughing commuters, discussions of the latest Olympic highs and lows with complete strangers – who would believe it possible?
So while I’m sad that it’s all come to an end, I’m also incredibly proud to be British – while there may be things we’d like to change if we could, I think we’ve restored faith in human nature – even if just for a little while.
