It’s like being a tourist without the fear of getting lost. Plus the shine of travelling into town is very much back after spending nine months with two very small children. My journey means I can read a book and sit quietly, without having to entertain or wipe a nose (except my own, of course).
Obviously returning to work after maternity leave means there is a lot to catch up on, and a lot of changes, new clients and new faces.
But the biggest change I have noticed has nothing to do with APR, it is the noticeable absence of the much maligned bendy bus.
Oh Boris, what have you done?!
I realise the bendy bus had many critics, but for people like me, who are somewhat accident prone, they were great. The lack of stairs minimised potential embarrassing trips, and the many exit points meant falling into someone with a coffee in hand as you tried to leave was no longer a problem. They were also closer to the ground, so less of a step onto the bus meant even less chance to fall over.

And from there I raced through the bargaining and depression stages straight to acceptance as I LOVE sitting on the top deck. It is a far better viewing position up high, and allows for much better pre-work daydreaming and people watching.
I know - I am bus fickle.
