Revolve H2ICE conversion

Client: Revolve

Revolve Technologies, a leading specialist powertrain and vehicle engineering company known for its expertise in the automotive, defence and motorsport sectors, required a media event to launch its hydrogen bi-fuel conversion for commercial vehicles (http://www.revolve.co.uk/Projects/Bi-fuel-conversion). Revolve was seeking to build its market-leading reputation, create product awareness and consequently increase opportunities for its business both for this product and its engineering and development capabilities.

APR’s role was to draw in relevant, authoritative and influential media outlets and journalists to achieve those objectives, organise an event schedule, prepare media resources, manage the event and monitor consequent media coverage – all within a tight budget.

The most appropriate venue was Revolve’s Brentwood headquarters where the H2ICE conversion had been developed and produced. This allowed for an involving factory tour where Revolve’s engineering abilities could be showcased, further engaging journalists with Revolve and its engineers.

The event ran for three-and-a-half hours, including presentations from Revolve’s Managing Director and Technical Director. During the presentations, journalists were given a profound insight into the development of the vehicle as well as of where alternative fuel technology stands at the moment.

Comments from journalists were extremely positive with all expressing a genuine interest in the content of the presentation – something many said they had not felt for some time.

A simple buffet lunch was followed by the opportunity to test drive and photograph the vehicle (for those who did not want to make use of the supplied photographer’s efforts).

As a result of this event, favourable on-line copy appeared within 24 hours and continued to be posted over the following week, with print publications following. The type of publications selected by APR also ensured business decision-makers read the reports, generating new contacts and opportunities for Revolve.

This is an example of a simple, low budget exercise which brought together an interesting client project with key automotive media invited and attending as a result of APR’s unique contacts. The resulting high level of coverage has delivered all of the client’s objectives.
