| 20th Sep 12 | Continental Tyres | During its press conference at the International Motor Show (IAA) Commercial Vehicles, international automotive supplier and tyre manufacturer Continental announced that it is establishing a new retread plant for truck and bus tyres as well as a facility to recycle rubber from used tyres at its headquarters in Hannover. The facility is the first of its kind worldwide and makes use of the synergies between the retreading and recycling production. With an investment of more than ten million Euros, Continental is strengthening its position in Western Europe and further develops its ContiLifeCycle approach in production. The new ContiLifeCycle Plant will be established at Hannover-Stöcken, creating more than 100 new jobs. more |

(NYSE: CMI) will power the first fleet of commuter locomotives in North America meeting EPA Tier 4 ultra-low emissions regulations with a twin-engine QSK60 installation delivering 5,400 hp (4027 kW) output with an integrated Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) aftertreatment system. The innovative twin-engine QSK60 repower is specified for a fleet of MP40 locomotives operated by GO Transit in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, scheduled to play a key transportation role at the 17th Pan American Games taking place in July 2015. more |

(NYSE: CMI) today revealed the new QSK19-R engine with 755-hp (563 kW) at InnoTrans, Berlin with an integrated Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) aftertreatment, meeting U.S. EPA Tier 4 and European Stage IIIB Railcar very low-emissions regulations taking effect in 2015. The 6-cylinder, 19-liter engine and SCR aftertreatment is available ready for incorporation within a Cummins-designed underfloor railpack for installation in Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) railcars. more |

Meeting Euro 6, it is ideal for premium rigid trucks, lightweight tractor units and heavy duty buses and coaches. The 8.9 litre engine range goes up to 380 ps for truck and coach installations, with a peak torque of 1700 Nm. For bus applications it is available up to 330 ps with 1500 Nm peak torque. more |
