“We are excited about the potential for the new clean energy but, as with all new technologies, early adopters will require assistance to make their purchasing decisions and the news that the coalition has maintained the grant in the face of its pressing task to reduce the national debt is greatly to be welcomed”, said Lawrence Berns, Axeon’s CEO.
“The grant of £5,000 towards the cost of new low carbon cars will encourage the swifter take up of these green vehicles at a time when other pressures may have diverted attention from the need to move to a low carbon economy”, he said.
Axeon is spearheading pioneering R&D programmes on automotive batteries and aims to significantly improve the commercial viability of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles by focusing on power density and efficiency of battery packs. Electric vehicles powered by Axeon have already driven over half a million miles on European and US roads.
